This program will feature a traditional Martial Arts curriculum that has been established for over 45 years. With an emphasis on childhood development and goal setting, this program promotes "Discipline of Mind and Body" and the development of a positive winning attitude!The program is directed by the founder of East Montgomery Martial Arts Academy (located in Horsham), Mr. Jonathan Exaros. Classes will be taught by Ms. Shannon Lynott who is a Goddard School Teacher and an instructor at the main martial arts academy. Ms. Lynott has been studying with Mr. Exaros since she was a little girl. The Academy is very pleased to be partnering with Doylestown Township Parks and Recreation, and is enthusiastic about bringing their unique and proven methods of teaching children to the Doylestown community.Please note: During Winter Session there is no class on January 22nd or February 26th. During the Spring session there is no class on March 26th or April 23rd.

6:00 PM - 8:00 PM    Kids' Cartooning - Kids' Cartooning
In this one night session, kids will explore the world of cartooning and illustration. We will bring the well-known cartoons of today and discuss their significance to the art world. Illustrative drawing techniques, character development, and story building/writing will be explored. By the end of the class, each artist will have a fully developed cartoon strip to share with the world! All supplies will be provided...just bring your imagination!

10:45 AM - 11:45 AM    Therapy Dog Prep Class & Testing - Winter/Spring - Therapy Dog Prep Class & Testing
This class is designed for handler & dog teams interested in pursuing therapy dog work. The AKC Canine Good Citizen Program (CGC) certifies that dogs are reliable and well-behaved members of their home, in public places, and in the presence of other dogs. Bright and Beautiful Therapy Dogs, Inc. is a non-profit organization that evaluates, tests, trains and qualifies owners and their well-behaved dogs as therapy dog teams. This class will prepare you and your dog for CGC or B&BTD testing on the final week of class with an approved evaluator.  *Recommended for mature dogs with previous professional training.During the Winter session there is NO CLASS on March 3rd.

By practicing Zentangle Art you learn how to shift your state of mind toward relaxation, focus and inspiration. Something profound occurs when you put your pen to paper and watch your lines form beautiful patterns. Since you do not need to be concerned with the results, you can enjoy the beauty of each stroke. There are no errors when creating your tangles, only happy, new beginnings. No art experience is required! All materials will be provided.

6:00 PM - 8:00 PM    Basic Drawing - Basic Drawing for Adults
Drawing isn't only for Picasso, but for everyone! Basic drawing is the basis of all art forms. In this course, new artists will explore the basics, including composition, perspective, shading and scale. We will learn how to draw from what you see rather than from what you know. Different drawing mediums will be introduced, allowing the artist to choose which one best fits their style. Two and three dimensional drawing will be practiced with different drawing exercises. New artists are welcome to bring their own supplies, but they will also be provided by the instructor. By the end of the class, students will either have started or finished their very first still life.

Founded in 1999, Premier is an innovative tour operator specializing in the group travel market.
