Robots are generally used to perform either dangerous or monotonous tasks. The challenge facing robotics engineers is that the robot knows only what is written into the program. The design of the robot must also be capable of performing the task at hand. Mission Mars curriculum is designed to introduce students to the world of not only building, but also programming basic robots. Throughout this course the students will explore different ways in which a robot could be utilized to explore a distant planet.

In Junior Robotics: Simple Machines United, students will explore the basic concepts of simple machines and how we use them to achieve even our most grandiose goals! Students will use LEGO® WeDoTMconstruction and resource kits to produce new and exciting builds that will be used to create Kelvin's Amusement Park. Lego Robotics: Mission to Mars (Ages 8-12)A robot is a device that is designed and programmed to perform a task either autonomously or with human input. Robots typically come in two forms: those resembling humans, or role-specific robots, such as NASA space probes and Mars Rovers.

12:30 PM - 3:30 PM    Engineering for Kids Camps - Out of This World
Jr. Engineer's Camp (Ages 4-7)Pack your bags and lace up your hiking boots engineers, because at Engineer's Camp, we are engineering designs to help us explore the great outdoors. Build a tent, design waterproof clothing, engineer your own survival pack and more! Join us for a week of fun and adventure where everyone goes home a happy camper!Out of This World (Ages 8-12)Is mankind ready to inhabit the moon? With a little help from Engineering for Kids students, humans will be prepared to take up residence by the end of the week! Students will collaborate with their Space State teams to create the safest and most effective community on the moon. Which team will earn enough Astro-Points to be declared the winner? During Out of This World camp, students will explore three fields of engineering: aerospace, civil, and chemical. Medieval Machinations: Minecraft EDU Redstone (Ages 8-12) MinecraftEDU is an expansive game that lets players design and create unique worlds with amazing structures. One of the more complicated aspects of MinecraftEDU is Redstone, which is MinecraftEDU's version of electrical circuitry. This class will introduce students to the many uses of Redstone through a Medieval themed adventure of creation, exploration, and castle besieging, with students making mine cart tracks to help them gather resources, working together to build their kingdom, and designing traps to defend their castle, all with the use of Redstone. 3D Printing: Minecraft Creations (Ages 8-12)3D Printing and Minecraft both represent boundless opportunity for creating even our wildest of ideas! In 3D Printing: Minecraft Creations, students will explore the basic concepts of 3D printing and computer-aided design, or CAD, to bring their most awesome Minecraft creation to life! Students will take their Minecraft design out of the world of Minecraft and learn how to extrude it into a 3D model that can then be modified to be printed in 3D.  Jr. Lego Robotics: Simple Machines (Ages 4-7)We use simple machines everyday, but many times without even recognizing them. In Junior Robotics: Simple Machines United, students will explore the basic concepts of simple machines and how we use them to achieve even our most grandiose goals!
