This class is designed for handler & dog teams interested in pursuing therapy dog work. The AKC Canine Good Citizen Program (CGC) certifies that dogs are reliable and well-behaved members of their home, in public places, and in the presence of other dogs. Bright and Beautiful Therapy Dogs, Inc. is a non-profit organization that evaluates, tests, trains and qualifies owners and their well-behaved dogs as therapy dog teams. This class will prepare you and your dog for CGC or B&BTD testing on the final week of class with an approved evaluator.  *Recommended for mature dogs with previous professional training.During the Winter session there is NO CLASS on March 3rd.

If we've worked together in the past, this class is for you. Tell me your training goals and I will design the class to achieve them. Let's take your training to the next level or get your dog back on track. This class is designed for a maximum of five dogs that are social with other dogs. Prerequisite: Completed a previous class or in-home training with Susie Danzis.For dogs 8 months and older and social with other dogs.

Calling ALL new puppy owners! Each class will have a different training topic, as well as healthy socialization with other puppies. We will discuss house-training issues - teaching your puppy how to signal and potty outside - on command. We will address jumping, chewing, play-biting and other common behavior issues. When you and your puppy complete seven classes, you can be recognized by the American Kennel Club and rewarded with their S.T.A.R. Puppy Medal and Puppy Package. For puppies between the ages of 3 months and 6 months.Please note: During the Saturday sessions there is no class on June 23rd, July 21st and August 4th.

This program will feature a traditional Martial Arts curriculum that has been established for over 45 years. With an emphasis on childhood development and goal setting, this program promotes "Discipline of Mind and Body" and the development of a positive winning attitude!The program is directed by the founder of East Montgomery Martial Arts Academy (located in Horsham), Mr. Jonathan Exaros. Classes will be taught by Ms. Shannon Lynott who is a Goddard School Teacher and an instructor at the main martial arts academy. Ms. Lynott has been studying with Mr. Exaros since she was a little girl. The Academy is very pleased to be partnering with Doylestown Township Parks and Recreation, and is enthusiastic about bringing their unique and proven methods of teaching children to the Doylestown community.Please note: During the Spring session there is no class on March 26th or April 23rd. During the Summer session there is no class on June 25th and July 23rd.

Mindful knowledge, skills and strategies cultivate focus and attention, laughter and play, a positive mindset and rational thinking, the ability to respond wisely vs. react blindly, open minded curiosity, quality of performance and feelings of confidence and competence. By understanding and using these skills children will gain: Awareness Resilience to Stressors Power of “Choice” Self-Compassion Happiness & Enjoyment Calmness Ability to Notice And many more cool “tools” and experiences for their toolbox of well-being! Please note: Class does not meet on June 23rd, June 30th or July 21st. Doylestown Township Parks and Recreation is excited to welcome Connie Meizinger as a new program instructor! Connie is a certified special and elementary educator, and has over 25 years experience as a learning support and inclusion public school teacher. She founded Connecting Mindfully after realizing the vast need for mindfulness training, applicable stress management tools and general well-being skills/strategies for people of all ages, in both their personal and professional lives. Connie has a Masters in Counseling from Arcadia University and a BS in Education from Gwynedd-Mercy University.

So whether you want to win games in your living room against your parents or win tournaments in other states, come join us and learn how to play chess or play better chess! Campers receive a tournament-style chess set and a Shining Knights t-shirt.
